Our History
Tony’s Seafood traces its roots back to the early 1900’s to Angelo Pirri, a Sicilian fisherman who immigrated to United States. He settled in Bristol, RI, became a local fishmonger and taught his son Anthony “Tony” Pirri the family trade of the fishing industry. He served four years in the armed service as part of the U.S. Army’s 129th Division securing the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. Upon returning home Tony continued working with his father.
Tony continued the business formally establishing Tony’s Seafood after his father’s passing 1947. In 1978 Tony’s children Angelo and Nikki-Ann expanded the business opening a wholesale and retail operation in Seekonk, MA. In 1997 Angelo Pirri designed a state of the art processing plant in Warren, RI which now houses the wholesale and processing division of Tony’s Seafood.
Today, our retail store in Seekonk, MA is still owned and operated by the Pirri family, Nikki-Ann and Angelo’s oldest son Anthony.
Today, the Wholesale division in Warren, RI continues to be operated by Angelo, his wife Jeanne, and his sons Mark and Dominic. As a fourth-generation business, Tony’s Seafood continues a family tradition of selling “The Finest in Seafood”.
